British take New York , 1776 New york , New York
One June morning of 1776, Daniel Mcurtin gazed out his window and saw “something resembling a wood of pine trees trimmed." He was trembling when what he thought was a forest, turned out to be a swarm of British ships planning to dock in the New York harbor and attack the Patriots. There were many significant and brutal battles before the Patriots became victorious. It was a day no one will ever forget.

who!...
George Washington is the military leader for 20,000 troops.Washington was known for his French and Indian war leadership during that time at Fort Nessesty, Washington and men had to surreneder. Willam Howe is the general and with the help of his brother Richard Howe they lead british troops.During this time Washington took control of the troops with leadership and strenghth.Washington is a very power figure in the military. He has great ideas in order to win the war against the British.

what!...
After Daniel Mcurtin's discovery of the British ships, we have reason to believe that George Washington was expecting General Howe, of the British army, to attack because Washington recently fled Boston, to protect his troops. George Washington was also outnumbered by the British soldiers. His army consisted only of 20,000 poorly trained troops and with no navy. British however, transported 34,000 highly trained troops. They were also accompanied by 10,000 sailors. Throughout the autumn months, Washington's army fought several battles against Howe's troops. Washington later retreated across the Delaware River and into Pennsylvania after being chased out by the British. They are currently spending the winter months at Valley Forge, training even harder to win their land back from the British. John Burgoyne is helping the troops with new techniques and trying to help them enhance their tactics when it comes to battle.

when!..
August 22, Howe's men went agains Washington and his 8,000 men at the Battle of Long Island with Howe's men was up against nothing in there minds. This was a very easy task at hand for them but Washington and his men new this was the total opposite. On August 27, Washington did not spend anytime blaming who lost the Battle of Long Island. Remaining cool , calm and confident he was finalizing every detail to win Brooklyn Heights. The next day additional troops arrived to increase his command to 9,000. Which made it capable to split his troops up among Manhattan and Long Island, which made a trap against the British. The British lost their opportunity to catch Washington. Rain was a disadvantage to all of the troops leading to August 29 Washington and his troops crossed east river Manhattan. When this British charged that morning they found nothing but empty trenches Washington lest to fight another day.

where!...
Patriots recently celebrated the withdrawl of the British from Boston, Massachusets. The Patriots were even more elated considering they had finally forced the British out of one of their main bases. The British later sailed into the New York Harbor with a plan to attack the Patriots and reclaim the land they believed was rightfully theirs. The British and the Patriots fought for many months on New York territory. Later when Washingotn retreated to Pennsylvania, Patriots settled in Valley Forge and trained with John Burgoyne to help enhance their army skills and tactics.

Why..!
The British wanted independence, they wanted to take over the all 13 colonies .Washington men were very well prepared and driven for this task. The Declaration of Independence was said to be the start of all of the battles. Declaration of Independence was to have the 13 colonies and the United States to be separated by England. This raised a lot of tension between them.British gave them alot of options but what they wated was freedom and independece .The 13 colonies was what the British wanted and they would do anything to get that.

how!...
When the British recently invaded the harbors of New York, the perspective from all the groups of people were quite different. The Patriots during these recent events would have felt a range of emotions. They would have been thrilled, for one, on account of forcing the British to withdrawl from their main base in Boston, Massachusets. Patriots also would have probably been scared when the British came flooding into their harbors unexpectedly. Fear probably grew upon them during the months at Valley Forge because for some, every day was a battle to stay alive. The loyalists on the other hand, would have felt the need for revenge after the Patriots drove them out of Boston. They also probably would have felt victorious after invading the New York harbors unexpectedly, causing Washingotn to retreat to Pennsylvania. After the months patriots spent at Valley Forge, loyalists probably would have been surpried by the amount of skill the Patriots developed. The Patriots new developed skills would have impacted the war a great deal because it would have encouraged Britis soldiers to fight even harder for the land. The nuetral colonists would have probably felt angry with the Patriots for driving the British out of Boston. However, they also would have felt betrayed by the British for invading their harbor. Overall, I think the nuetral colonists would have felt torn as to what they should feel considering they were not fighting.
